In a recent interview with Kartik Aaryan, when questioned as to why he had returned his fees for his latest movie, ‘Shehzada’, the actor clarified his stand.

He said, “Earlier I was not a producer for the film. I had taken my fees and remuneration but then there was some crisis that was happening and because the film was going through a crisis, they needed someone to step us so I asked the producer, I will give up my money for the film and that is how this whole production thing and me becoming a co-producer.”

When quizzed as to why the fees was returned, “Almost that freed the film of the burden in a way. Also, I had signed the film even before Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. So, both the films were going hand in hand. The budget of the film was not very extravagant thankfully. But since it was an actioner, it does take a little budget and there were certain issues that we were facing at one point because of which I had to give it up.” He added, “And we are in a good spot, good situation with the film and the budget.”

The movie is a remake of the 2020 Telugu film Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo starring Allu Arjun. The movie released in theatres on the 17th of February. The movie is all about babies exchanged at birth where one grows up in a wealthy family and the other, in a regular family.

So far the movie has not been much appreciated, let’s see if Kartik’s magic prevails.
