Megastar Amitabh Bachchan has announced the return of his popular game show Kaun Banega Crorepati with a new video addressing the issue of the “GPS enabled Rs. 2000 currency notes.”

When demonetization was announced in 2016, many stories about the new notes having a GPS system that would enable the location to be tracked circulated. The 50-second promo shared by Sony TV took a dig at these false claims where in Mr. Bachchan, the show’s dynamic host, poses a question about the same to a contestant named Guddi.

In the video, the veteran asks a tricky question, “Out of the typewriter, television, satellite, and Rs. 2000 note, what has GPS technology in them?” The contestant confidently replies that the answer is Rs. 2000 note but she stands corrected by Mr. Bachchan, that the correct answer is satellite.

The contestant asks if Bachchan was joking, and the actor quickly responds, “What you believed as the truth was a joke”. When the contestant says she got the information from new portals, so it was their fault. Bachchan tells her that even if it was the fault of journalists, “the loss was hers.”

“Gather information from wherever you can, but verify it first,” he says in his promotional clip.

The online registration for Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 14 has officially started. Registration can be done via SMS and the SonyLiv app.

Mr. Bachchan has hosted KBC since its inception in 2000 except for the third season in 2007, which was hosted by superstar Shah Rukh Khan.

The grand show is expected to start in mid of August 2022 on Sony Television at 9 pm sharp.
