Kiara Advani has been receiving love from fans for her portrayal of Dimple Cheema in Sidharth Malhotra-led Shershaah. The actor played Captain Vikram Batra’s fiancée within the film. While she has a seal of approval from fans, the actor has now opened about the important Dimple Cheema’s reaction to the film.
Dimple Cheema was during a relationship with Captain Vikram Batra when the Kargil War broke out. After Vikram Batra was martyred within the war, Dimple chose to stay unmarried. Besides Vikram’s journey, Shershaah also features the couple’s romance .
Speaking with Mid-Day, Kiara Advani revealed that Dimple Cheema is ‘touched’ by the film’s songs and needs to offer her some privacy. “I messaged her after the film. this is often an emotional movie for her. i would like to respect her privacy immediately . once I met Captain Batra’s family after the film, they said i used to be exactly like [Dimple]. That moved me to tears. i do know the songs have deeply touched her. She must be proud that the story is resonating with people,” she said.
Kiara had met Dimple during the preparation of Shershaah. She told DNA India earlier this month, “She (Dimple) has chosen to measure this life and she or he lives it with such a lot happiness as if he (Captain Batra) remains round her . which is deeply moving and endearing about her. I did ask her at one point of your time ‘but it has been numerous (years)’ and she or he checked out me like ‘like that does not matter’ and said, ‘I’m upset with him immediately but that’s ok I’m getting to meet him and saari shikayatein tabhi milke (dur) kar dungi (I will clear all my complains then)’.”
