Singer KK ,who gave Indian music lovers many hits over the last three decades has died at the young age of 53. He gave aperformance at Nazrul Mancha on Tuesday and later went to his hotel where he fell sick. He was taken to the hospital where he was declared dead.
KK released his first album, Pal in 1999. The singer-composer whose real name is Krishnakumar Kunnath is known for his Bollywood hits like Tadap Tadap(Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam), Dus Bahane and Tune Maari.
Singer Harshdeep Kaur is deeply shocked and writes, “ Just can’t believe that our beloved#KK is no more. This really can’t be true. The voice of love has gone.This is heartbreaking.” Actor Akshay Kumar adds, “Extremely sad and shocked to know about the sad demise of KK. What a loss! Om Shanti.”
Actors Vicky Kaushal and Ranveer Singh both shared his pictures on their Instagram stories. While Ranveer added a broken heart emoji, Vicky adds, “ Your magical voice will live on forever. Thank you for your evergreen songs.”
Filmmaker Surjit Mukherji wrote on Facebook, “In a state of total shock. Just met him last month for the first time and it seemed we had known each other for years. The chatter won’t stop. And I was so moved to see the love he had for Gulzar saab. Farewell , my newest friend. Will miss you. I wish we had more sessions on music and food and cinema.”
KK was born in Delhi in 1968 and rose to fame in 1999. The same year he successfully launched his album Pal. Over the years he carved a niche for himself with his love songs. He had an immense stage presence and energy. You will be missed!!
