People are frequently left wondering how to take care of their tresses, from selecting the proper products to sticking to a hair care programme. However, one concern that we all have is how frequently we should wash our hair.

Some individuals wash their hair every day, while others go days without doing so. If you’re unsure about your hair wash regimen, dermatologist Dr. Jushya Bhatia Sarin recently posted a piece that explains how often you should wash your hair based on your hair type.

Oily hair has a bad image, yet the oil produced by your scalp is essential for healthy, lustrous hair. Washing your hair may be a major cause to a poor hair day, despite what shampoo ads may encourage you to believe.

“If you have dandruff or a highly oily scalp that makes you uncomfortable the next day, you may wash your hair every day,” Dr Sarin added, emphasising the importance of choosing the proper shampoo. If you wash your hair every day, choosing the correct shampoo is even more important.”

People with oily scalps should shampoo every day, while those with dry scalps should shampoo twice or three times a week, according to the doctor. The doctor also stated that the frequency with which one washes their hair is a personal choice. “Most people don’t need to wash their hair on a daily or even biweekly basis.
