MAMAMOO is one of the most popular k-pop girl bands in South Korea. They recently released a compilation album titled I Say MAMAMOO: The Best. The fans are thoroughly enjoying the re-recordings, impressive spins and of course, new title track “mumumumuch”.
However, fans were baffled to discover that MAMAMOO’s new album has sold less than 7000 copies! This comes as a big shock considering how successful MAMAMOO has been in the past. Their mini-album, WAW, for example, is just a few thousand copies away from reaching 100,000 sales on the Hanteo chart after selling 38,259 copies on its first day of release.
This is the group’s first OT4 album since Wheein left RBW and fans have been anticipating its release for a long time. Actually, comeback goal guides made by MooMoos told fans to aim to reach 50,000 sales on day one. However, it ended up quite differently! At the end of the tracking day on September 15, I Say MAMAMOO: The Best recorded a final first-day sales total of just 6,981 copies.
“Mumumumuch” managed to reach more than 1 million views in less than 8 hours! Many fans believe that the albums are sold out in various stores and thus the numbers have dipped so low.
