Who has not heard of Banarasi weaves? The famous, Manish Malhotra will showcase his latest collection inspired by the rich cultural heritage of India.

Bollywood stars Ranveer Singh and Kriti Sanon graced the ramp for Manish Malhotra’s show at Namo Ghat in Varanasi on Sunday evening. The show saw both the stars supporting the traditional Indian attire.

The two-day event was organized by the Indian Minorities Foundation to showcase handlooms on a global scale.

Ranveer Singh and Kriti Sanon visited the Kashi temple and Ranveer Singh deeply appreciated PM Modi’s efforts to develop Varanasi. He said, “We deeply appreciate everything PM Narendra Modi has done to protect and promote the weaver community. He has absolutely changed the face of Kashi in the last 10 years.”

The theme of the show was ‘Banarasi saree- A tapestry of Indian culture and craftsmen’, Ranveer said, “The event was amazing. The experience of ramp-walking on the banks of River Ganga felt a million times better than walking at Mumbai’s 5-star banquets. This event showcased the exquisite craftsmanship of our weaver community.”

For the fashion show, Kriti was dressed in a red-coloured Banarasi lehenga, with a golden dupatta and a maang-tikka. Ranveer looked royal in a golden-coloured silk kurta which he wore with black dhoti and matching shawl.
