Minolae Jain, a Bengaluru native, has dreamed of creating gorgeous sets for Hollywood films since she was a youngster. Her studies in Singapore and Los Angeles provided her with the necessary tools to follow her ambition.
Although it may appear that beautiful actors and captivating plots are what make a film or TV show popular, this is not the case. A film’s look and feel, as well as its unique camera angles and sophisticated editing, are all important elements. Set design is one such area that is sometimes ignored during the credits.
Set designers, according to Minolae Jain, a Bengaluru-based Production Designer and Art Director who has worked in the art departments of several programs, music videos, and commercials, “bring a tale to life.”
“As a production designer, I mostly work with the director and cinematographer to visually communicate the story as effectively as possible.” I have a unique viewpoint since I grew up in a varied and cosmopolitan nation that is a melting pot of tradition and globalization. It’s incredible that I’ve seen movies in over 20 different languages since India produces the most films in the world,” she says, emphasizing the importance of her profession.
Minolae Jain said that for my high school production, an adaption of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, I was a member of the logistics crew. I went through endless rehearsals over the three-month production and always felt like something was missing.
That missing element reappeared a week before the concert, thanks to the efforts of a set designer. He put his talent to use, and the entire story came to life. It wasn’t simply a stage at my high school anymore; it was a set that transported you to the realm of Snow White.
This was the precise moment when I realized I wanted to create these universes.
