Tamil Cinema superstar Rajinikanth pens down an emotional note on receiving the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award. In his note, he thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, opposition leader Stalin, his friend Kamal Hassan and his bus driver among others.
Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, tweeted a congratulatory message, “Popular across generations, a body of work few can boast of, diverse roles and an endearing personality… that’s shri @rajinikanth ji for you. It is a matter of immense joy that Thalaiva has been conferred with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award. Congratulations to him.
Responding to PM’s tweet, Rajinikanth tweeted, “Immensely humbled and honoured with your greetings and the most prestigious #DadasahebPhalkeAward award respected and dearest Shi @narendramodi ji. My heartfelt thanks to you and the government of India.”
In another tweet, the superstar thanked the jury and wrote, “My heartfelt thanks to the government of India, respect and dearest @narendramodi ji, @PrakashJavdekar ji and the jury for conferring upon me the prestigious #DadasahebPhalkeAward I sincerely dedicate it to all those who have been a part of my journey. Thanks to the almighty.”
Actor Kamal Hassan also tweeted in Tamil and said Rajinikanth deserves the award 100% as he has proven himself on screen and has a huge fan base.
Today, from all corners, congratulatory messages are pouring in for Rajinikanth on social media. The superstar will be receiving the award on May 3, 2021.
The award is presented annually and is India’s highest award in cinema, presented by the Directorate of Film Festivals for the contribution in the growth and development of cinema.
Earlier, the 70-year-old legendary actor also won Prestigious Padma Bhusan in 2000 and the Padma Vibhushan in 2016.
