One of the most awaited movies this year has been ‘Murder Mubarak’ and what was supposed to be an impressive film, has me confused, wondering what such a brilliant star cast is doing in this scattered script.
The movie is disappointing! You have to force yourself to watch the first half, hoping and wishing the second part is a tad bit better. One of the Twitter users writes, “Admiration for makers of #MurderMubarak. Must take immense talent, hard work to let such an ensemble of fantastic actors get wasted. Perfect for a late night watch after a hard day. 20-25 minutes into the show, deep slumber guaranteed.”
However, there are those that wrote, “Murder Mubarak is a good film, but Sara Ali Khan and Pankaj Tripathi have done a wonderful job. Its second half was not as intense. Vijay Verma has done a very strong job.”
Directed by Homi Adajania and produced by Dinesh Vijan, the plot lacks luster. What begins as an intense plot, needing Sherlock Holmes/ Pankaj Tripathi to solve the case, gets lost in the many stories that unfold. Too many questions, no answers.
Sanjay Kapoor shines dimly, Dimple Kapadia and Karisma Kapoor are wasted. Bambi and Kashi’s love story builds the interest but little can be done. Poor cat is called ‘Prince Harry’, uff! Pankaj Tripathi as the investigating officer fails to keep me glued, his reason for not wearing a uniform is, ‘It puts me at a distance from people.’
Streaming on Netflix, the movie can be seen for all the high-end Delhi socialites and their lives and the drama that goes on, everything seems forced and bland.
