Neeraj Chopra bagged a historic gold medal at Tokyo Olympics 2020 in the men’s javelin throw final on Saturday, August 7. The 23-year-old became the second Indian to grab an individual Olympic gold and the first Indian to win a gold medal in an athletics event. Congratulatory messages have been pouring in from all corners. Bollywood celebs also took to social media to laud his performance.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded Neeraj and wrote ‘history has been scripted.’ While many Bollywood celebrities also congratulated him for creating history.

Anushka Sharma wrote, “And a gold comes home!! You make the entire country so proud Congratulations Neeraj Chopra.”

Kareena Kapoor Khan also congratulated him with a special post on social media.

Taking to Twitter Abhishek Bachchan wrote, “HISTORY HAS BEEN MADE! Kudos to @Neeraj_chopra1 for the first-ever athletics gold medal at #TokyoOlympics. @WeAreTeamIndia #Cheer4India.”

Television actor and Bigg Boss 13 winner, Siddharth Shukla also took to his Twitter to tweet, “You do us, proud boy!!! #NeerajChopra a billion thanks for bringing home the #Gold.” Meanwhile, Taapsee Pannu jumped up with joy after hearing the news as she tweeted, “It’s a gold!!!!!!! I am jumping with Joy!!!! This young man Neeraj Chopra has created history !!!!!!!.”

Neeraj Chopra scripted history on Saturday with a best throw of 87.58 meters, winning the first Olympic gold in athletics for India.
