Bengali actress turned politician Nusrat Jahan has welcomed a baby boy. According to the reports, both the mother and the child are doing well. Nusrat, who was admitted to the hospital in Kolkata on Wednesday night, gave birth to the child via C-Section surgery on Thursday.

Jahan’s rumored boyfriend and actor Yash Dasgupta said that both of them are well. Also her ex-husband, businessman Nikhil Jain has shared his reaction on the same. For the unversed, Nusrat and Nikhil got married in Turkey in June 2019 but earlier this year, the actress revealed that their marriage is not valid under Indian laws.

Recently, Nikhil, in an interview, spoke about the newborn and the mother. “My differences with her would not stop me from wishing well for the newborn. I wish her well. May the baby be super healthy and have a prosperous future,” he said.

Meanwhile, Dasgupta said, “For those who have been enquiring about Nusrat’s health, the mother and child are healthy and doing well.”

On Thursday morning, the actress had shared a photograph of herself on Instagram with the caption: “Faith Over Fear #positivity #morningvibes.”

In early 2021, Nusrat had courted controversy after she claimed that her marriage with Nikhil Jain in 2019 in Turkey was not valid under Indian laws. While, Nikhil, on his part, claimed that Nusrat had avoided his requests to register the marriage.

In a statement, the actress had said, “Being on foreign land, as per Turkish marriage regulation, the ceremony is invalid. Moreover, since it was an interfaith marriage, it requires validation under the Special Marriage Act in India, which did not happen. As per the court of law, it is not a marriage, but a relationship or a live-in relationship. Thus, the question of divorce does not arise.” Their case is lying pending before a court.
