The Balaji Telefilms Pvt. Ltd web series stars Ridhi Dogra and Monica Dogra in pivotal roles.
The series also stars actors Suhaas Ahuja, Nadira Babbar, Rahul Vohra, Divya Seth Shah, Samridhi Dewan, Nabeel Ahmed among others.
The American musician and actor of Indian origin, Monica Dogra made her first appearance in the Bollywood movie Rock On in 2008.
She essays the character of Peeplika in the OTT series directed by Sahir Raza.
Recently in an interview with vogue.in, the actress shared deets about her character in the web series.
She said, “What drew me towards The Married Woman initially was my first meetings with the producer and the writer.
After that, when I read the script, I was just sold on the fact that this story is such a nuanced and beautiful story and something important to tell.
I also found that Peeplika was the role of a lifetime for someone like me. I could not have prayed to God for something more specifically made for me,”
“I think the role of Peeplika in many ways came naturally to me. A lot of what Peeplika as a character goes through are experiences I have lived in my personal life. Having been estranged from my mum for many years, having been someone who growing up broke the roles unintentionally, I identify as someone who operates more from the heart than my head. That shows in many of the choices I make as an actor, as a musician. I have never really gone mainstream, I have always done things that took risks, and often those risks did not lead to rewards. And for me, that led to the reward of The Married Woman, a show that truly is a dream come true, the role of a lifetime and a show that's so sensitive and beautifully done,”
