Created and written by Richie Mehta, this is the true story of events based on ivory poaching.

Poaching is based on true events that unfolded in Kerela in 2015. Richie, got hold of a footage in 2015, of an ivory raid which was submitted by the NGO Wildlife Trust of India. After a long investigation, he took it upon himself to do a thorough research. What began as a research, bought to light facts of life, that it just wasn’t about saving the elephants from being assassinated, it was about several aspects of life that are all integrated in society.

As the series begins, a man Aruku, walks into the Forest department division in Malayatoor, Kerela and confesses that he has been killing elephants, for a poacher Raaz. He opens up about this because of his guilt for his actions.

At a bird sanctuary, Mala gets a call from Harish about poaching activities. A team is set up to visit the site, but Raaz vanishes. The complexities of law enforcement are brought to light in this series. The forest department is not at sync with the traditional law enforcement.

As on Twitter, the series is garnering praise. One user writes, “The web series offers audiences a refreshing and genuine sense of reality about the brutal killing of elephants, making it a truly rewarding watch.”

Produced by Alia Bhatt, the series features Malayalam actors Roshan Mathew, Nimisha Sajayan and others in lead roles.
