Anubhav Sinha’s ‘Bheed’, is now available on Netflix, two months after its theatre release. The movie has Rajkumar Rao, Bhumi Pednekar, Dia Mirza, Ashutosh Rana and Pankaj Kapur in lead roles.

Bheed is the story of a police officer whose major task is to prevent migrant workers from entering the country during the lockdown. The story focusses on the disparities of our society. In difficult times, the wide social gap in the country is revealed. Filmmaker Anubhav Sinha is known for his movies like Article 15, Mulk. This black and white movie is a thought-provoking film.

Taking place in the beginning of the Covid 19 pandemic, the entire nation is in a chaos. No one knows exactly what to do and in order to curb the spread, police checkpoints were established to check movement.

The director has used the black and white theme as reference to the 1947 partition, where there was a large number of people migrating. The streamer’s description reads, “A border cop’s assignment to stop migrant workers from crossing during a lockdown erupts into a fight for humanity amid prejudice and suffering.”

Give this movie a shot at Netflix. It is streaming in Hindi audio format with subtitles in multiple languages. The movie did not do well at the box office yet it received positive feedback on its release and shows the effects that the lockdown had on the lower strata of society. IMBD RATING-7.7/10
