Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, two well-known Bollywood actors, married in a private ceremony at their Mumbai home on Thursday.

As they emerged from their apartment complex, the pair donned white suits and waved to cameras. With Bhatt in his arms, Kapoor lifted her up and headed back into the flat.

Close relatives, Bollywood celebs, and cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar and his wife also attended the wedding ceremony.

Kapoor, 39, is a member of the well-known Kapoor family of Bollywood, which has controlled the Hindi film business since the 1940s. Rishi and Neetu Kapoor, his parents, were well-known Bollywood performers in the 1970s and 1980s.

He is the grandson of famous actor-director Raj Kapoor, who was voted the finest showman in Bollywood. Prithviraj Kapoor, Raj’s father, was an actor in the 1940s who operated a theatrical company and appeared in Hindi classics.

Bhatt, 29, is from a Bollywood family as well. Mahesh Bhatt, her father, is a well-known director, and Soni Razdan, her mother, is a former actress. In 2012, she made her acting debut in Karan Johar’s adolescent drama “Student of the Year.” In 2014, she earned an award for her role as a kidnapped victim in the road thriller “Highway.”

“We got married today, surrounded by our family and friends, at home… at our favourite area – the balcony where we’ve spent the previous five years of our love,” Bhatt said on Instagram.

“Gangubai Kathaiwadi,” Bhatt’s most recent Bollywood film, grossed more over 2 billion rupees ($26 million) at the box office following its February release.
In 2005, Ranbir Kapoor got his start in the film industry by aiding producer-director Sanjay Leela Bhansali on the film “Black.” In 2007, he made his acting debut in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s “Saawariya.”

Both she and Kapoor come from a film family, and other Bollywood stars, including Kareena Kapoor, were present at the event.
