Music composer Shravan Kumar Rathod passed away on Thursday (April 22) at Raheja Hospital in Mumbai. The 66 year old musician was critically ill after he was tested positive of novel corona virus on April 19 and was on ventilator support.
Soon after his death, celebrities pour in their condolences message on social media.
Actor Akshay Kumar tweeted, “Very sad to know about the passing of music composer Shravan. Nadeem – Shravan created magic for many films in the 90s and later, including Dhadkan that has remained legendary in my career. Deepest condolences to his family.”
Music Composer Salim Merchant penned an emotional message on Twitter, “Shravan bhai is no more, my respects and condolences to his family. Nadeem- Shravan have given us some of the biggest hits in the 90s. Covid has taken so many lives. Don’t know when will this end… Really saddened by this news.”
“Shocked to hear the news that Shravan ji (of Naddem Shravan) passed away. A genuine humble human being and one of the biggest composers of our music industry. Another huge loss in this pandemic. God give strength to the bereaved family. Rest in peace”, tweeted singer Shreya Ghoshal.
Filmmaker Kunal Kohli tweeted, “Sad to hear about the passing away of #Shravan ji of #NaddemShravan due to #covid. A glorious chapter of Hindi film music comes to an end. They defined the music of the 90’s, prayers with the family.”
Anil Sharma, film director, took to twitter to confirm the news of musician’s demise and wrote, “Very very sad.. just came to know about the great music director #shravan he left all of us.. due to covid.. very dear friend and colleague of mine, worked with him in #maharaja Always gave great melodies.. my deepest condolences to his family. He will always remain in our hearts. RIP.”
Pritam, music Composer- singer, tweeted, “Saddened to know that Shravanji of Nadeem Shravan has passed away. Feeling numb. When will this nightmare get over. My deepest condolences to his family.”
“Extremely saddened by the tragic news of legendary music composer Shravan ji’s (of Nadeem/Shravan fame) demise… He was not just an incredible composer but also possessed an ever loving soul and beautiful heart. May he rest in peace..”, tweeted singer Adnan Sami.
Bengali music composer Jeet Gannguli paid his condolences and tweeted, “Can’t believe this…! The super talented music composer Shravan ji (Nadeem- Shravan) is no more.. It’s a great loss for our industry… May his soul rest in peace.”
Shravan Kumar Rathod is popular music-composer and is a member of the famous duo of the music-directors, Nadeem-Shravan. The duo together composed soundtracks for many Hindi films namely Saajan, Phool Aur Kaante, Sadak, Deewana, Dil Ka Kya Kasoor, Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke, Rang, Dilwale, Raja, Barsaat, Agni Sakshi, Jeet, Raja Hindustani, Sirf Tum and many more.
