Laal Singh Chaddha’s failure was a big blow for Aamir Khan and he decided to take a break from acting. He decided to step down from the remake of Champions as well. If rumors are to be believed, there was news of Salman Khan being roped in for this Spanish remake.

If all the buzz is to be trusted, the Dabangg star is unhappy with the script and has suggested some alterations. Looks like Aamir Khan and the director RS Prasanna disagree with the suggestions and it looks like getting Salman to sign the film is not an easy task.

The Spanish movie, Campeones was a comedy-drama that highlighted the story of a basketball coach who works with a team of mentally disabled players as a part of his community service. The movie was a major hit in Spain in 2018.

Last year Aamir Khan had confirmed the ‘Champions’ remake and said, “It’s a wonderful script, it’s a beautiful story and it’s very heartwarming and lovely film but I feel I want to take a break. I want to be with my family, I want to be with my mom and my kids. I feel I have been working for 35 years and I have single mindedly been focused on my work. I feel this is not fair to people who are close to me. I will be producing ‘Champions’ because I really believe in the film, I think it’s a great story. I will be approaching other actors now to see which of them would like to do a role which I was hoping to do. I am in a stage in life where I would like to enjoy my relationships.”
