Samantha is the leading contender for the lead part in Taapsee’s Outsiders Films’ next female-centric thriller. After the popularity of Amazon Prime Video’s, The Family Man 2, the actor became well-known in North India.

Samantha has been contacted to play the lead in a new film produced by Taapsee Pannu, according to the latest rumor. According to reports, Taapsee’s Outsiders Films is developing a female-centric thriller, and Samantha is the front-runner for the part. A formal announcement is coming soon.

Meanwhile, Samantha was said to be taking Nayanthara’s place in Atlee’s forthcoming project alongside Shah Rukh Khan. A study afterwards refuted this claim. Samantha featured in The Family Man S2 as Raji, a former Sri Lankan Tamil guerrilla living in exile. Samantha was reportedly rumored to be going to Mumbai as part of her job, which she disputed.

Outsiders Films was founded by Taapsee Pannu earlier this year. Blurr, their first production, is now complete. The psychological thriller, directed by Ajay Bahl, stars Taapsee with Gulshan Devaiah. Samantha is on vacation right now.

Here on work front, she has Shaakunthalam, a pan-Indian fantasy film, and Vignesh Shivan’s Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal, a co-production with Vijay Sethupathi and Nayanthara. Shantharuban and filmmaker team Hari and Harish have also signed her for two Tamil-Telugu bilingual projects.
