Scarlett Johansson recently got featured in Time Magazine 100 Most Influential People 2021. Jamie Lee Curtis composed a personal note for Johansson, revealing their friendship and more, as she was honoured as one of 2021’s achievers. Jamie also came out in favour of Johansson’s current lawsuit against Disney for breach of contract in connection with her film Black Widow.
Jamie stated that she felt a connection to Scarlett ever since she played Curtis’ mother, Janet Leigh, in Alfred Hitchcock’s film Hitchcock. In her note, she stated that she totally supported Scarlett’s lawsuit against Disney. According to Time, Jamie emphasised in her statement how she watched Johansson ace her role as Black Widow and take on not only the onscreen baddies but also battle for her rights offscreen, as she wrote., “Whether as an assassin with a conscience, an actor with an emotional center or, having just given birth to her second child, a fierce mother, the message is clear: Don’t f**k with this mama bear”.
Earlier, Scarlett’s Marvel co-star Elizabeth Olsen supported her for standing up to Disney, calling her “tough” and expressing her reaction to the news as, “I was like, ‘good for you Scarlett.’”
Scarlett raised a lawsuit against Disney in August, saying that the streaming distribution of Black Widow violated her contract, which promised exclusive theatrical release.
