Treat You Better singer revealed that how the couple conjured up on their relationship and faced some difficult situations together and worked on it. Recently, the Shawn made his appearance on the Man Enough podcast, where he spoke with Liz Plank, Justin Baldoni, and Jamey Heath about his greatest fear when it is about his relationship with girlfriend, Camila Cabello.
When asked about his biggest fear, Shawn recalled an incident of argument and fight between Camila and him.
The singer shared the details about the incident and spoke on the innermost working of them in the relationship. “I raised my voice at her and she was like, ‘I don’t like it when you raise your voice. Why did you raise your voice?’ And I got so defensive,” Mendes mentioned. “I was like, ‘I wasn’t raising my voice at you!’ And, I did raise my voice at her. And, I felt her shrink, and I felt me grow and I was like, ‘Oh god, this is the worst.’ I’m so terrified of being evil. I’m so scared to be bad,” he continued.
The singer stated that, Cabello him realize and confronted him after the fight. The singer said that he felt blameworthy and guilty for making the complete thing about his worry of “being evil” and later apologized to her. Further the singer stated that, after that incident he realized that typically “being vulnerable” after a fight, you are actually “simply defending yourself even better.”’
Further, in the interview, the singer was asked that what are his greatest strength and biggest weaknesses that Cabello would identify in him. Shawn stated that, “My greatest strength, I think she would say is my truth, my ability to be honest, tell the truth,” he shared. “I think she would say my [weakness] is my commitment to being a ‘good guy.'”
