Taapsee Pannu seems to be equating her experiences in Bollywood with what Mithali Raj endured as a cricket player while promoting Shabaash Mithu. Taapsee discussed how deeply ingrained patriarchy is both in the system and within our community. She also discussed how Bollywood as an industry shouldn’t be blamed for its patriarchal approach because, in the end, audiences prefer mass male-driven content to female-driven films that must pass the review test. Speaking further about her pay to, Taapsee maintained that every actor’s ultimate objective is to prevent their producers from suffering financial loss.

Taapsee Pannu discussed leading lady salary, wage inequality, and the state of female-driven films in her open chat. She also remarked that her objective as an actor is to make sure that her producers don’t lose money while talking about the budget of a movie. “Budgets fail, not films,” she remarked. Regardless matter whether it’s Bollywood or Hollywood, it is a global truth. Your prior publications should be your main rivals. For both actors and actresses, the most crucial truth should be that your producers shouldn’t be suffering a financial loss. It is my responsibility to make sure that I don’t cause my producer to lose money when we discuss my pay.

She also disclosed that she talks about the audience before the movie comes out, which is theoretically the biggest portion for a movie with a strong female lead. However, in a male-driven movie, an actor’s pay after the movie comes out also plays a big part. “After the film’s release, which is extremely hazardous because it relies on how well the movie does, the pay is little for a female-driven movie. The reason is that we are unable to forecast audience behavior when it comes to these films, thus the producers are unsure of its performance. In these situations, you need to protect your own money (compensation) even before the movie comes out.
