In the midst of V’s dating allegations, BTS (ARMY) fans have asked for a full boycott of K-Media news websites such as Allkpop, Koreaboo, and Soompi, in a predictable turn of events.

Allkpop, Koreaboo, and Soompi are English-language blogs that cover all aspects of Korean entertainment, including K-pop and K-drama. Non-Korean speakers rely on them to keep up with their favourite celebrities.

Despite their status as news organisations, some websites have been accused of spreading falsehoods and fanning the fires of current conflicts in order to gain more visitors. ARMY seems to have had enough this time.

BTS’s V attended the VVIP opening of the annual ‘Korea International Art Fair’ on October 14, according to numerous news agencies, including the three in question (KIAF). They further stated that V was joined by Choi Yoon Joon, the head of Paradise Group, and her daughter.

Following this, social media was awash with dating rumours regarding V and Choi Yoon Joon’s daughter, and BTS fans believe the reason for the uptick in speculations was due to the way these publications handled their reporting. Several ARMY members questioned the invasive nature of the coverage, calling Allkpop and Koreaboo clout chasers.

Any K-Pop celebrity, especially a member of BTS, is no stranger to allegations of random dating if they are seen with someone of the other sex. V has already been matched with a number of people, including a fan, all because he uttered the phrase “Hey Nuna” in an Instagram post.

BTS’ agent, as well as the HYBE label, had to make a statement denying the rumours. ARMY, on the other hand, is behind their beloved star and has filled Twitter with requests to ban and report Koreaboo and Allkpop.
