Whitney Houston’s most famous song, “The Bodyguard,” was used in “The Bodyguard” in 1992, which began her acting career.

WB stated Wednesday that a new romantic thriller is in the works, with an original story written by American writer Matthew Lopez, according to Variety.

On Broadway in 2019, Lopez’s play “The Inheritance” debuted to rave reviews. It is a two-part drama about homosexual men living in New York following the AIDS pandemic of the 1980s.

Warner Bros did not reveal casting, narrative, or a possible release date, but they did confirm that Lawrence Kasdan, the writer and producer of the 1992 picture, will co-produce the new version.

A former secret service agent played by Kevin Costner protects Houston’s character from an unknown stalker in “The Bodyguard”.

Houston’s performance of Dolly Parton’s song “I Will Always Love You” became a classic, despite the film being lambasted by reviewers at the time of its release. As a result of his drug addiction, Houston drowned in the bathtub of a Beverly Hills hotel in 2012. This woman was 48 years old when she passed away.

It would be the latest in a long line of Hollywood films to undergo a remake. As well as the 2018 remake of “A Star is Born,” fresh versions of the sci-fi classic “Dune” and musical “West Side Story,” will be released later in 2018.
