Neha Dhupia, is a face we all reckon with, an Indian actress, model and the winner of Femina Miss India, in the year 2002. Born in a Punjabi Sikh family, her dad served in the Indian Navy and it was indeed a delight, to hear Neha share her views on her personal and professional life at the FICCI FLO event organized by the Chairperson Anamika Ghai and her team.
Neha started working 26 years ago, and made her acting debut with a play called ‘Graffiti’. She later appeared in a TV series, acted in several films and modelled for designers. She hosted a Bollywood podcast #NoFilterNeha, where she has interviewed 68 celebrities. Another feather in her cap is the Roadies show that she won in 2017.
In a heart-to-heart conversation with the women, Neha spoke openly about her children and husband. She’s a doting, loving mom and the glint in her eyes as she talked about her kids, said it all! She encouraged the ladies to always have ‘a side hustle, something that inspires you, gives you a voice.’ Neha herself is on board of a ‘Parenting Community’ and is a stalwart for breastfeeding and education.
Neha shared several personal anecdotes and talked about success and failure. A firm believer in destiny, she strongly believes whatever happens, is for the greater good. She emphasized that failure teaches us valuable lessons, shapes us for a better future and makes us stronger to deal with rejection.
Another point that Neha brought to light was that women are expected to tick several boxes, have the right weight, hair, complexion, run the houses perfectly and more, yet she emphatically stated, “Ladies, there’s perfection in imperfection.” So, so true Neha.
