Blueming is a film starring rookie actors Kang Eun-bin and Jo Hyuk-joon about a college student named Cha Si-won (Kang) who aspires to be popular at university despite being bullied as a youngster. However, Si-won realizes that he is being eclipsed by another student Hyeong Da-woon (Jo), who is described as having “perfect” appearance, grades, and demeanor.

“I had to be immaculate to not be looked down on,” Si-won says, as he works on his physical appearance and volunteers at school in an attempt to achieve popularity. However, he quickly meets Hyeong Da-woon, who is universally adored by his peers.

Si-won displays scorn for Da-popularity woon’s at first, feeling he looks down on him, but the two become closer as the latter tries to dispel Si-misunderstanding. won’s “I continued giggling because I thought you were adorable,” Da-woon confesses.

Blueming, based on the webtoon Who Can Define Popularity? will premiere its debut episode on March 30 and will be available on a variety of platforms, including iQiyi. Director Hwang Da-seul, well known for the BL romantic comedy To My Star, is in charge of the series (2021).

In other K-drama news, VIXX member Leo has been cast in the BL K-drama Happy Ending Outside The Fence. Following member Hyuk’s role in online drama Color Rush, in which he co-starred with former The Boyz member Hur Hyun-jun, the vocalist will be the second VIXX member to feature in a BL series.
