Akshay Kumar, Bollywood’s Khiladi, is one of the rare celebrities who has never shied away from starring in a multi-starrer picture. Housefull and Hera Pheri are two multi-starrer films directed by Akshay Kumar. Khiladi Kumar is currently working on a number of projects, including Bachchhan Paandey, Prithiviraj, Raksha Bandhan, Ram Setu, OMG 2, and others. Some of these projects have Akshay as the lone actor, while others include him alongside additional male actors.
In a recent media interview, the actor discussed his feelings regarding multi-starrer films, saying that he doesn’t understand how other performers think or why they reject such projects.
According to Akshay, “I won’t mention names, but there’s a slew of people, including actors, who are thinking, “Ki, let’s not make a two-hero, three-hero picture.” I keep scratching my head, not understanding why they refuse to do it. It’s fantastic to do a three-hero, four-hero, or even five-hero theme, as is the case in Hollywood.”
“What occurs here is that they don’t want to do it,” he continued. Do mein hi badi mushkil se mante hai log. Haath pair jhodne padta hai. Samaj mein hi nahi aata mera ki kyu nahi kar sakte ho. Kyu nahi kar sakta ki chaar ladkiya hai aur mai akela hu, kyu nahi kar sakta.
“I don’t understand what type of math they’re thinking,” Akshay Kumar added. There’s a mistake in their math. We should do three hero films, two hero films, and get into it. They’ve made a mistake in their calculations.”
“Because the screenplay is great,” Akshay said when asked why he does 2-3 heroes and multi-starrer movies. It’s something I’d want to do. I’d like to be a part of a wonderful movie. Rather than focusing on my role, I want to be a part of a successful picture. “Mai apne role ka aachar dalunga!” says the narrator.
In the meantime, Akshay Kumar is promoting his forthcoming flick Bachchhan Paandey. The film will be released on March 18 and stars Kriti Sanon, Jacqueline Fernandez, Arshad Warsi, and Pankaj Tripathi.
