The past hurts, it can be painful often, yet several times we catch our mind walking the back lane, thinking of the events gone by and conjuring the ifs and buts of life. Shefali Sharma, the heroine of the movie, ‘Three of Us’, is a woman teetering on the edge of dementia.

She goes to the small town where she had grown up and meets the friends of her past, whom she had tried to forget during her busy life in Mumbai. She revisits events from the past that had shaped her, and to rediscover the person she was. We all get so busy in the present, trying to be perfect at our jobs, homes, kids, that we seldom forget ourselves.

Filmmaker Avinash Arun’s captures the beauty of life and human emotions. Shailaja, Shefali Shah, worked in the divorce department of the family court in Mumbai and knows that love goes flying out of the window after some time. The struggle sets in to keep the marriage alive. On the onset of dementia, she travels to the small Konkan town where she spent her adolescence years.

She meets her old friend, Jaideep Ahlawat/ Pradeep Kamat, who is a bank manager and has a poetical way with words. The movie brings to mind several questions, we keep paving the way forward without settling the past and sometimes that has its impact on our soul.

Beautiful human relationships are portrayed, it is what is, they accept each other for what they are. A lovely film.. watch it on Netflix!
