The world of cinema has moved online ever since it was hit with Covid-19. Various Bollywood actors have signed deals with online streaming platforms and made their debuts digitally. Recently, Bollywood heartthrob, Varun Dhawan signed a deal with Amazon Prime Video.
The actor will reportedly be part of the American Drama series Citadel which is being created by Anthony and Joe Russo. While Varun Dhawan will star in the Indian spin-off of the series, Priyanka Chopra Jonas will be a part of the original series. She is currently filming the main series in the United Kingdom along with Richard Madden.
Varun Dhawan will reportedly play the lead in the local Indian spin-off. This spin-off will be directed by Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK. The main series is scheduled to stream on Amazon Prime Video in January 2022. If reports are to be believed, other countries like Italy and Mexico will also get a local spin-off.
The storyline will be independent for the major part but there will be crossovers between the main series and the local ones.
The cast of the Indian version of the series is expected to be announced soon as it is scheduled to begin filming in 2022.
