The news sent shock waves across the Tamil film industry. Many celebrities from the fraternity expressed grief over the demise of the actor through their social media handles.
CV Kumar, producer, director, and distributor shared the poster of the film Thoratti and penned, “Shocked to hear the demise of #Shamanmithru such a young talented cinematographer and actor due to corona. My deepest condolences. May his soul rest in peace.”
Shaman Mithru had earlier worked with cinematographers KV Anand and Ravi K Chandran. He had also worked on several projects as a Director of Photography and made his acting debut from a romantic drama film Thoratti which was released in 2019.
During one of the promotional interviews, Shaman revealed that he became an actor by chance. “Thoratti is a film that delves into the lives of shepherds who walk miles in search of pasture for their goats and sheep. This story happens in a village. And the lead actor who plays a shepherd needed to look like one. Not many actors would be willing to take the risks involved in getting tanned, losing tons of weight, and walking barefoot. So, I decided to take the plunge and do the role myself.”
