BTS, a South Korean boy band, has taken the world by storm with its eccentric movements and catchy melodies. While Jungkook of BTS recently performed the song Stay Alive, it has officially surpassed the Top 5 most streamed songs on Spotify Global in 2022.
Apart from singing together, the members of the band are also pursuing their own careers, with Jungkook, the band’s youngest member, proving his place as a global icon on numerous occasions. He reiterated this when he released his debut solo album, Stay Alive, under his own name. According to a recent report by Allkpop, Jungkook’s Stay Alive has taken over many popular artists’ records, including The Weekend. Apart from the Canadian singer’s tracks, Stay Alive became the seventh most popular single launch in 2022, with over 4.2 million filtered streams.
For all k-pop fans, Stay Alive was one of the most anticipated songs. The song was released as part of BTS’ webtoon, 7FATES: CHAKHO. Jungkook sang the song, and Suga, a member of his band, wrote and produced it. Soon after its debut, the song became a chartbuster. In less than 24 hours, it shattered multiple world records.
Stay Alive topped the iTunes Charts in 74 nations within six hours of its release, according to Pinkvilla. Thailand, Japan, Argentina, Finland, Germany, France, Chile, and even the United States were among the countries where it topped the charts. Many well-known artists, including Ed Sheeran, Nicki Minaj, and others, were dethroned as a result of the song’s success.
Meanwhile, the boy band is gearing up for another live performance in Seoul, South Korea. After their four-show engagement in Los Angeles, the band members went on a three-month vacation. They’ll be performing in Seoul starting March 10iTunes as part of their Permission to Dance tour.
