After a short break, where she got married to director Aditya Dhar in hometown Himachal Pradesh, Yami Gautam is back to work. A couple of days ago she posted a picture on Instagram announcing her next stint. The actress has begun shooting for an investigative drama, titled Lost, in Kolkata. Set in the backdrop of crime journalism, it features Yami as a reporter covering crime beat.

An excited Yami, who’s seen posing with the clapperboard on the film’s set, in the picture she shared online, told BT, “It’s too early to talk about this project. All I can say is that the script reads brilliant. It is based on journalism, society, media and the perception of the current times and how it affects people. In today’s times media is such an important link and how it influences people or how it doesn’t we will look into that. I play a crime reporter in the film. The subject is very intense and it grabbed me when I was reading it.”

The movie is directed by Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury, who earlier directed the National Award winning film Pink starring Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu and that has got Yami all the more excited. “With Aniruddha on board one can expect the story and its execution to be very realistic,” she says.
Before she began shooting for this film, the actress shot for Bhoot Police, in which she plays the role of a ghostbuster. Ask her about the varied roles she gets to essay in movies and she says, “The idea is to be as versatile as I can. I want to challenge myself as an actor. The process of growth cannot stop!”
