Actor Jitendra Kumar is full of admiration for the digital medium, saying it has given writers and actors the freedom to explore and reach every part of the globe.

Actor Jitendra Kumar has undoubtedly become well-known due to his over-the-top roles, whether it be as Jitu bhaiya in The Kota Factory, the innocent Prem Kumar in Chaman Bahaar, or the beloved sachiv ji, Abhishek Tripathi, in Panchayat. Kumar, who is renowned for his realistic representations, attributes his success in the profession to the expansion of OTT in India. The actor is open about his path and his appreciation for OTT in a tête-à-tête.

With OTT, you can experiment with any genre, whether it’s reality television or shows that are more fantastical in nature. It has been a very rewarding eight years. Since 2014, OTT has opened the door for artists to develop in a very liberated environment. Because of OTT, I have also developed during the past eight years. The stories that have been presented to me since I first started have been quite diverse. Due to OTT, artists are in a better situation now. The instant access to material at one’s fingertips is a benefit of the digital age. OTT has revolutionized entertainment and has touched every corner of the globe. Because of OTT’s reach, deserving artists may find their audience.

For artists and audiences alike, relatability is crucial. You can only fall in love with a character if you can identify with them on some level. The public looks forward to my work because I have the good fortune to portray characters that are more relatable. That, in my opinion, is the only strategy to win the audience over.

The success of Panchayat has given me hope that the tales I want to tell and am working on will be well received by the public. We honestly had no idea how well it would go or how many lives it would affect. There hasn’t been a story like Panchayat recounted in recent memory.

One of the most important lessons is Abhishek’s flexibility. He first had no desire to work in a hamlet, but with time, he became accustomed to rural life and began to take pleasure in his job as well. Like him, we must learn to adapt when life places us in an undesirable circumstance in order to reap the benefits.
