Pranutan Bahl, who has two films under her belt and many more to come, seems confident in continuing on the tradition of her grandmother, late famous actress Nutan, and her next film ‘Helmet,’ which will premiere on Zee5 today and co-stars Aparshakti Khurana, Abhishek Banerjee, and Ashish Verma.

Actress Pranutan Bahl opened up to WION in a candid conversation about being part of a film that allows a dialogue around normalising the use of a birth-control device and coming from a family of staunch feminists in real life, calling ‘Helmet’ a “fun, quirky film with a beautiful social message conveyed in a non-preachy manner.”

Pranutan Bahl hopes that after viewing the video, the audience would “laugh their guts out” because it seeks to teach people that there is “no taboo associated to purchasing or selling a condom.” “People may recognise my character as desi pataka and moohfat because she is a fun-loving, lively girl (blunt). In Benaras, I portray a noisy, obstinate, and controlling girlfriend who sells condoms. To get the tone right for my role, I had to let go of a lot of inhibitions,” Pranutan remarked.
