Sunny Leone is going to become the first Bollywood actress to launch her own non-fungible tokens (NFTs), putting her ahead of the pack of Indian actresses who are gravitating toward digital assets. Leone, along with superstar Amitabh Bachchan, who recently shown interest in NFT, is one of the first Indian actors to do so. Ellen Degeneres, Paris Hilton, and Lindsay Lohan are just a few of the international celebrities that have dabbled in NFT.

For the uninitiated, NFTs are unique digital-native tokens, which are used to represent ownership of digital goods like images, videos, texts or songs. The ownership and trading of these digital goods can be tracked on public blockchains, which in turn brings in the necessary authenticity.

Sunny will debut her NFTs, a collection of hand-picked artworks that will be sold on her website, sunnyleonenft.com. “I truly feel crypto is the future of the world, and NFTs allow me an opportunity to express myself with art and be able to effectively make each NFT its own unique token, which is incredibly exciting,” the actress adds of her decision. Each of my NFTs will be completely distinct from the others, with varying levels of rarity. Rare NFTs, super rare NFTs, and even ultra-rare NFTs will be available. Each NFT will be able to be used to access material and maybe even experiences with me in the future.”

“We’re breaking ground again by partnering with Mintdropz to launch our own NFT Platform so we can give our fans a whole world like experience that goes beyond just NFTs, where my fans will be able to use their NFTs to unlock content and experiences with me,” she says, referring to her partnership with Mindtropz. To me, it’s critical that we establish an NFT collection that lasts longer than a single release. We’re constructing something far larger. We’ve partnered with Mintdropz because they’re a creator-first platform that will allow us develop blockchain experiences using NFTs and expand my own universe.
