When it was revealed that Sajid Khan had actually entered Bigg Boss 16, many people were shocked. The director has been accused of #MeToo by several women, not just one or two. Celebrities like Sona Mohapatra and Uorfi Javed have publicly criticized his participation in the Salman Khan-hosted programme. But it is actress and purported victim Mandana Karimi who has resigned from Bollywood in protest. Scroll down for more information.
If one recalls, Mandana had told Sajid about her experience on the casting couch. He had instructed her to take off her clothing if she wanted the part in Humshakals, adding, “If I like what I see, you could get the part.”
When asked about Sajid Khan joining Bigg Boss 16, Mandana Karimi said to the Hindustan Times, “I’m not shocked to see him back in the spotlight. For most individuals, life has taken on the feeling of burying my head in the sand. Who cares if I will gain from it and profit from it? That is why the MeToo movement in India and many other nations failed to make much of an impact.
It does make me sad, Mandana Karimi continued. To be quite honest, that is also the main cause of my seven-month absence from the workforce. I’ve stopped working. I skipped all of the auditions. Bollywood is not where I want to work. I don’t want to work in a field where women are treated disrespectfully.
Karimi also mentioned that she had yet to receive money for a performance that finished five months ago. The actress did not criticize the producers but did remark that her debts had not yet been paid.
Do you believe Sajid Khan’s participation in Bigg Boss 16 is fair?
