During her marriage to Hollywood star Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie has revealed that she is concerned about the safety of her family. During the promotion of her new book, “Know Your Rights and Claim Them: A Guide for Youth,” Jolie revealed over her marriage to Brad and explained how she came to understand the importance of children’s rights.
In an interview with the Guardian’s Weekend magazine, the actress was asked if she is worried about her children throughout the marriage, to which she said, “Yes, for my family.” My entire family,” the actress added, saying that her custody fight is still continuing with Brad Pitt, so she can’t say anything about it right now. The actress went on to say that her six children’s rights were not being respected, alluding to her accusation of domestic abuse against Brad. She was concerned about the safety of her children.
“It took a lot for me to be in a position where I felt I had to separate from the father of my children,” the actress said. Jolie also claimed that her over all divorce experience had broken her as it has been very traumatic. Sharing about her traumatic experience she said, “I think at the end of the day, even if you and a few people you love are the only people who know the truth of your life, what you fight for, or what you sacrifice, or what you’ve suffered, you come to be at peace with that, regardless of everything going on around you.”
Before getting married in 2014, the former couple dated for ten years. Jolie and Pitt divorced in September 2016, but are currently fighting for custody of their six children, Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, and twins Vivienne and Knox.
