Nicole Scherzinger has joined the cast of NBC’s impending Annie production, and she is all set to hit the stage of upcoming musical event. The Pussycat Dolls star will play the role of assistant of Daddy Warbucks and champion of the little red-haired orphan. The Masked Singer is the most recent to board the live creation.

As per Deadline, the 43-year-old singer said, “Musical theater has always made my heart soar, so I’m over the moon to join this amazing cast for such a great classic.” The lead spot is yet to be projected, however Taraji P. Henson will play Miss Hannigan, and Harry Connick Jr. will play Daddy Warbucks in the melodic, which will release on Thursday, December 2. Grace character will participate in musical numbers such as “I Think I’m Gonna Like It Here,” “N.Y.C.,” “You Make Me Happy,” “You Won’t Be an Orphan for Long,” “Annie,” and “New Deal for Christmas.”

Annie is based on Harold Gray’s famous comic strip Little Orphan Annie, from the book by Thomas Meehan, which was premiered on Broadway in 1977 with music by Charles Strouse and lyrics by Martin Charnin.

The executive producer of Annie Live are Thomas Meehan. Robert Greenblatt, Neil Meron, and Alex Rudzinsky. The musical event will be directed by Lear deBessonet and Alex Rudzinsky. The choreographer incharge will be Sergio Trujillo. Including the best musical award, Annie has also won seven Tony Awards.

Annie Live! goes on air on Thursday, December 2 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on NBC.
