The movie Article 370 has been garnering huge success at the box-office. It’s a damper to know the movie has been banned in the Gulf countries.

In the movie, Yami Gautam plays Zooni Haksar, an intelligent officer, in the film, which is set in the valley and revolves around the removal of special status to Jammu and Kashmir under Article 370.

PM Modi while addressing a gathering in Jammu few days back stated, “I have heard that a film on Article 370 is going to be released this week..it is a good thing as it will help people in getting correct information.”

Helmed by Aditya Suhas Jambale, the film also stars Priyamani, Arun Govil and Kiran Karmarkar. The movie brings to light the difficult social and political conditions in Kashmir. It deals with hard times, identity issues and the ability to bounce back, showing the hopes and problems of the people in the valley and how the state is, after the abrogation of Article 370.

No official explanation for the ban has been given yet, and it seems to have the same fate as the movie ‘Fighter’, which was banned as well. In spite of the growing travel and tourism and the people there love Indian cinema, this ban is a setback for the film’s international earnings.
