The Anupamaa programme has always presented the audience how Anupama has been blamed for everything in the family, large or small, whether she was married or divorced. Vanraj can’t see Anupama thriving in life, let alone with another guy (Anuj Kapadia). Vanraj informs Babuji that he responded because Anuj Kapadia pushed him a lot at the Bhumi Pujan. Babuji just folds his hands and walks away.

Anuj, on the other side, is seen in a godown sobbing and shouting since he is unable to see Anupama in this condition. In the last episode, Anuj told Anupama that she needed to leave the Shah residence since she was unhappy. Anuj and Devika argue over how Anupama should live her life.

Vanraj notices Anupama as she enters the house. ‘Today was the most significant day of my life, and you absolutely wrecked it,’ she says. Anupama apologises to Vanraj before he can begin questioning her. She then takes a seat over to Vanraj and tells him that he is afraid that Anupama has achieved the same professional level as him and that he can no longer handle it. ‘Aap darr rahe hai Anupama aur Vanraj Shah ki barabari se’, says the character.

Vanraj then tells Anupama that if a housewife wants to, she can do anything; to which she responds that she can, but she also has a responsibility to her family and home, which if not met, might cause problems. ‘Abhi mein patni nahi hoon, toh bhi aap bardash nahi kar pare, ab bardash karna seekh lijiye,’ says the narrator.

Baa then informs her that she can’t do this with another guy (paraya mard), prompting Anupama to remind her that she is sharing a house with another man, Vanraj Shah. Vanraj mocks Anupama by talking about her “aukat” and informing her that he will always be above her, to which Anupama responds that his head will always be above hers.
