Bell Bottom starring Akshay Kumar released in theatres today, August 19. The film is being loved by the critics and the audience. Bell Bottom is the first Bollywood film to be released in theatres after the pandemic. Akshay’s friends and colleagues from the industry took to social media to praise the film. From Ajay Devgn to Karan Johar, many celebs lauded Akshay Kumar’s decision to release the film in theatres.
Akshay Kumar is receiving praise from all corners for his film, Bell Bottom. Akshay’s old friend and colleague, Ajay Devgn, took to Twitter to praise Bell Bottom and laud Akki. Ajay wrote, “Dear Akki, I’ve been hearing good reviews of Bell Bottom. Congratulations. Also, your leap of faith in making it a theatrical release is praiseworthy. Aanand L Rai, who is working with Khiladi Kumar on two films – Atrangi Re and Rakshabandhan, shared a post on Instagram congratulating the actor. He wrote, “It is not enough to stare up the steps, we must step up the stairs. Welcome, #bellbottom Congrats @akshaykumar Sir for all the guts.”

Bell Bottom is directed by Ranjit Tewari. The film is based on the plane hijacks that took India by storm in the 80s. Akshay essays the role of a RAW agent who helps get the Indian hostages back to the country. Vaani essays the role of his wife. While, Lara Dutta plays the role of former Prime Minister of India, Indira Gandhi, who was in power at that time. Huma Qureshi also plays a pivotal role in the film.
