BTS’s Jin recently discussed the postponement of his impending conscription during a live broadcast!

On October 28, Jin did a Weverse live broadcast during which he discussed the day’s earlier release of his brand-new solo song, “The Astronaut.” Jin will perform “The Astronaut” for the first time with Coldplay, with whom he co-wrote the song, at the band’s show in Argentina after it is released.

Jin stated that he will probably start preparing the paperwork for his impending military enrollment a few days after arriving in Korea from Argentina. BIGHIT Music released a formal statement earlier this month confirming that the members of BTS were preparing to complete their military obligations.

Jin explained the many adjustments that were made prior to this announcement: “I originally planned to enlist in June but I waited until our October concert [in Busan] out of respect for the fans. I postponed making my [enlistment] announcement because I didn’t want to perform while crying.

He mentioned that BTS’s formal announcement was made two days after their concert in Busan on October 15. After “Dynamite” became even more successful than they could have dreamed, according to Jin, BTS decided it would be best to release “Butter” and “Permission to Dance” for fans as well. I honestly think it was good that I didn’t leave during that period, he said, citing the success of the two songs.

“I pondered a lot about whether to not perform and go during the warm weather that I prefer, or to be kind to fans and go to the military when it’s chilly,” Jin concluded. In the end, Jin decided to put fans first. Jin said why he made the decision to go into the military after the concert: “I didn’t want fans to see our performance while feeling sorry because we announced it was the final.”
