Due to heavy rain, Disney’s Hollywood Studios became a water park, and the video is hilarious

Following pandemic shutdown, Walt Disney World is mostly “back to normal” these days, but the resort’s water parks aren’t quite there yet. While Typhoon Lagoon is now open for business, Blizzard Beach is still closed, leaving Disney water park visitors with little choices. However, Disney World was forced to operate an unexpected water park yesterday night when a major rainstorm flooded Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

The main routes of Disney’s Hollywood Studios, including Hollywood Boulevard, were entirely flooded, with customers having to navigate through ankle-deep water. Seeing the footage, such as this one from Instagram, gives the impression that the event was totally insane. When visitors get soaked wet at Disney World, it’s usually because they opted to take a ride that did so.

Aside from the torrential rain, there had to be some type of drainage issue at Hollywood Studios that caused the streets to flood. The majority of guests appear to have handled the situation admirably. Some certainly enjoyed being in the water; it’s not every day that you get to splash around in a Disney theme park. Others accepted the situation as it was. It wasn’t like avoiding getting wet was feasible, so folks gave up. Rain is a typical occurrence at Disney World since it is situated on what was formerly marsh territory in central Florida.

It may have been a lot of fun for those who were willing, or even thrilled, to cope with the water. Because many people likely departed the park to avoid the rain, attraction lines were likely to be short, making the park much more navigable for those who were prepared to brave the weather.

People took full advantage of this chance occurrence and had a good time with it. While this may not be how everyone anticipated to spend their day at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, it does allow guests with the appropriate mentality to spend the day doing something that few get the opportunity to do.
