Actress Helen McCrory known for three Harry Potter films has passed away at her residence in London on April 16, 2021 at the age of 52 after fighting the battle with cancer. Helen’s actor husband Damian Lewis took to twitter to share the news with her fans.

He penned an emotional note which is read as, “I am heartbroken to announce that after an heroic battle with cancer, the beautiful and mighty woman that is Helen McCorory has died peacefully at home, surrounded by a wave of love from friends and family. She died as she lived. Fearlessly. God we love her and know how lucky we are to have had her in our lives. She blazed so brightly. Go now, Little One, into the air, and thank you.”

Helen McCrory married actor Damian Lewis on July 4, 2007. The couple has two children, daughter named Manon and a son named Gulliver. During the covid-19 pandemic last year, the couple supported Feed NHS (a fast food chain in the United Kingdom), a programme to give food from high street restaurants to NHS staff and raised one million pound for the charity. 

The actress was best known for playing Aunt Polly, the matriarch, in all five series of period gang drama Peaky Blinders from its start in 2013. 

Her other roles included Cherie Blair in both The Queen which got released in 2006 and in The Special Relationship in 2010. She also portrayed Narcissa Malfoy in the final three Harry Potter Films. She has also been a part of movies like Hugo, Skyfall, Fearless, MotherFatherSon.
