Comedian and actress Kathy Griffin on Monday, revealed that she was diagnosed with lung cancer. After being diagnosed with stage 1 lung cancer Alex Spieller the representative of the 60-year-old comedian and actress told USA TODAY , “she is now out of surgery and everything went well, as per her doctor.” Kathy is currently resting and recovering.”
Griffin also shared the news adding that she has never smoked but still is diagnosed with lung cancer and that she is in the stage of recovery. “Yes, I have lung cancer even though I’ve never smoked!” revealed the actress. She further continued, “The doctors are very optimistic as it is stage one and contained to my left lung.”
“Hopefully no chemo or radiation after this and I should have normal function with my breathing. I should be up and running around as usual in a month or less. It’s been a helluva 4 years, trying to get back to work, making you guys laugh and entertaining you, but I’m gonna be just fine,” said Griffin by assuring fans that she will be absolutely fine in a month or less.
She also added that her condition might have been more serious if she would have not been “fully vaccinated” against COVID-19. Speaking on same she said, Of course I am fully vaccinated for Covid. The consequences for being unvaccinated would have been even more serious,” “Please stay up to date on your medical check ups. It’ll save your life,” said Griffin.
