It’s the realization of a “Daydream”! J-Hope of BTS will be the first South Korean musician to headline this year’s Lollapalooza at Chicago’s Grant Park in July.

J-Hope is scheduled to take the position of rapper Doja Cat, who had to cancel her summer appearances due to tonsil surgery. Tomorrow x Together, who debuted at number 10 on the Billboard 200 with their album The Chaos Chapter: Freeze in 2021, have been invited to the Lollapalooza lineup, marking their first appearance at a major American music event.

In a statement to Variety, Lollapalooza creator Perry Farrell stated, “I’m pleased to welcome J-Hope and Tomorrow x Together into the Lollapalooza family.” “These artists have been endowed with exceptional communicative abilities. Their international fan base speaks a variety of languages but is united by a strong desire to hear their music. Lolla is a place where all musical styles coexist. These are the global superstars of K-Pop, and we are beyond thrilled to have them at this year’s event.”

J-debut Hope’s solo mixtape, Hope World, was released in 2018. His album reached No. 38 on the Billboard 200, making him the highest-charting Korean solo artist at the time. The musician expressed his delight on Instagram.

He wrote, “It’s a wonderful new task that I believe will become a truly unforgettable chapter in my musical history!” “I’m going to put on a fantastic performance for you all. “Get ready to get crazyyyyyy!”

J-Hope will cap off Lollapalooza’s last day, which spans from July 28 to July 31. Green Day, The Kid Laroi, Charli XCX, Metallica, Dua Lipa, Machine Gun Kelly, J. Cole, and more will perform on the bill.
