Laal Singh Chadda is there to watch on Netflix, merely two months after its theatrical release in August. Earlier Aamir Khan had said that the film would be available only six months after its release.

The movie, which is an official remake of the Hollywood movie Forrest Gump, has incurred severe losses. The movie was a comeback for Aamir Khan after 4 years to the big screen.

Netflix India tweeted, “Keep your popcorns/ golgappas ready because Laal Singh Chaddha is NOW STREAMING!”

Written by Atul Kulkarni, the film follows Laal Singh Chaddha, a simple man whose journey is full of love, warmth, happiness and laughter. It’s the story of how a simple man can be happy.

Usually when a movie lands on OTT, stars do another round of promotions and send out social media posters to create a hype for the release. However, things have been very silent and neither Aamir Khan nor Kareena Kapoor mentioned anything.

The movie did not fare well at the box office and faced widespread boycott calls. It is said to have made approximately Rs. 130 crores worldwide.

Initially Aamir had said, “One of the reasons, primarily, I think the curiosity of going to theatres has reduced because films come on OTT right after they come in theatres, they come on OTT very fast. So, I have always tried to keep a 6 month gap for my films. I don’t know what the industry follows, but I like to keep a 6-month gap. So that’s what I tried to do for all my films and up till now, we have managed that.”

Let’s hope more people watch this film!
