Boost your immunity with this easy homemade kadha


As the current covid-19 situation in India continues to grim, the need of the hour calls to strengthen your immune system by staying at home. Present scenario asks for staying at home, wearing a mask and eating healthy food. People are now returning to their roots and are trying to improve the immune system naturally. Kadha has been used in India since ancient times but currently it came into attention due to the novel corona virus. Here is the kadha recipe which can be easily prepared by the ingredients available in your kitchen. Daily consumption of this tea is recommended in this pandemic situation. 

The ingredients required to prepare the concoction are turmeric, cinnamon, tulsi leaves, fresh ginger, black pepper and clove. 

Quantity required 

1 liter water 

½ teaspoon of fresh ginger 

½ teaspoon of turmeric powder

1 clove 

1 cinnamon stick

5-6 tulsi leaves 

½ teaspoon of black pepper


How to make

Boil the water in the utensil and add all the spices in the utensil, and boil it thoroughly. Let the boil till the quantity is reduced to half. Then strain the mixture and have it early in the morning when the kadha is warm. 


The traditional, homemade aromatic drink has immunity boosting qualities. Antioxidants help to reduce internal infection and protect you against the risk of chronic diseases. Not only this, this drink also helps to aid digestion, has anti-aging properties, helps in weight loss and also lowers the blood pressure. Therefore, it is highly recommended to consume this effective kadha on a daily basis.  

Turmeric is a good antiseptic and antifungal spice. Ginger is filled with nutrients and adds taste. Tulsi is packed with vitamin C and zinc. This green plant has amazing antiviral, antibacterial and antifungal properties. Cinnamon and cloves have antioxidant properties that help to boost immunity. Black pepper helps to kill inflammation- causing infection.
