The group’s management business, BigHit Music, has previously stated that the group is eager to complete their required military duty, with the eldest member Jin starting the process by the end of the month. The statement was made on the fan community site Weverse on Tuesday night.

On October 28, 2022, BTS member Jin will release “The Astronaut,” his debut solo song. We hope that “The Astronaut” can be a present to all of you because it was written with such affection for the fans, the agency stated in a statement.

Jin, who will be 30 in December, will start the enlisting procedures as soon as obligations relating to the release of his solo album are fulfilled.

All physically fit men between the ages of 18 and 28 are required to serve a two-year military enlistment in South Korea. All BTS members were given the option to delay their conscription until they were 30.

“Throughout the creation of this single, we also organized a number of promos for the fans. Please be very excited and supportive of this campaign so that you may get to know Jin from all of his many perspectives, BigHit Music said.

The group, which made its debut in 2013, is presently taking a hiatus as a whole as each member works on individual projects. They made their break official in June of this year.
