Ricky Gervais, a British comedian, actor, and writer, will be honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The 60-year-old comedian will be honored for his services to the entertainment business over the previous two decades, according to sources.
For the last two years, the actor’s Netflix series ‘Afterlife’ has been the most watched British comedy on the platform, and he has also won 25 Emmy Awards, 11 Baftas, and nine Golden Globes. Along with Gervais, the Hollywood Walk of Fame Class of 2022 includes actors Michael B. Jordan, Macaulay Culkin (from “Home Alone”), Avril Lavigne (from “Trainspotting”), Ewan McGregor (from “Trainspotting”), the late Carrie Fisher (from “Star Wars”), and DJ Khaled.
Gervais, who just revealed that the next third season of ‘Afterlife’ will be the series’ final season, has expressed his delight when strangers approach him on the street and tell him how much they enjoy the show.
Gervais stated that, while he has loved his time on the show, he feels it is appropriate to end it after the third season.
“I enjoy it more than anything else I’ve ever done, but I’m getting older and menopausal. People make a bad picture because of their grandson – I’ve reached that point now “he stated
The former ‘Office’ star went on to add that Series 3 is his favorite thus far. According to the Daily Mail, Gervais came up with the idea for the show after standing up to cancel culture with a character who could say and do whatever he pleased without fear of upsetting anybody.
The third series, on the other hand, has been completed, but the comedian has remained tight-lipped regarding the release date, saying only that it would be ‘coming soon.’
